Generally, the development tools of traditional RTUs were multiplex, because RTUs from different famous manufacturers have its independent system, incompatible each other, so the RTU’s developers and users must do a professional training so as to developing, using and  maintenance RTUs. At that time, the investment of RTU projects’ established, the cost of operation and maintenance were expensive. With the software and hardware technologies development rapidly, this requires stronger and stronger that the RTU systems should adapt for different industrial situations and could exchange data, it’s the same for the RTU systems’ openness and compatibility.

Description
 
l The figure of typical application case is a system architecture scheme of the end of gas-transfer station.
 
l HC**1is a main controller module, used for IO modules data acquisition and process. PC read the field data by network, then do analysis as display, alarm etc.
 
l HC**1is the extensional module for RS**5 communication, it is used for connecting   instruments to capture their data, such as the instruments like ultrasonic flow-meter and or gas components analyzer which provide COM interfaces in field.
 
l HC**1is flow calculation module of gas orifice, equivalent to a flow-meter. It calculates, accumulates the flow of gas orifice, and save the results of calculation by following a certain criteria. The results are ready to upload to PC and/or read by PC.
The other modules in the system accomplish other control functions such as PID regulator, pressure acquisition, temperature acquisition, valve control and so on.
