Description

"Carbon Footprint" refers to the measure of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission of a product from raw materials, manufacturing and packaging, transportation, distribution to disposal. The measurement is adopted the concept of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Carbon Footprint is an indicator for consumer to compare the greenhouse gas emission between products thru the quantified figure.

The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Carbon Trust in ***3 to develop a product carbon footprint and labeling scheme for businesses in Hong Kong. CMA and Carbon Trust will jointly launch a PCF co-label scheme. Under this project, manufacturers and traders can effectively manage their environmental performance.
