Finished parts made of ferromagnetic metals, e.
powder test. This method is used to determine whether a
finished
light of a UV lamp.
The fluorescent magnetic powder can
also be applied to the part to
be tested in the form of a suspension in a suitable
solvent.
Lumogen
®
Yellow S ***0 has established itself for the use in
combination with magnetizable iron oxide.
When crop protection agents are applied, it is often
necessary to
control the agricultural field. In such cases, the spray
solution can
be pigmented with Lumogen
®
Yellow S ***0 and the application
can then be controled at night with a portable UV
lamp.
In order to develop the full color strength, the pigment
should first
be ground on the edge mill with ch
alk or a similar inert diluent and
then added to the spray solution. Another method is to
prepare a
finely divided pigment paste an
d add that to the solution.
The requisite concentration for a
pplication is approximately 0.1–
0.5 g/l.
Fluorescent markings can also be applied by stamping with
a
coding machine. A typical formulation for a rapidly
drying stamping
ink is:
*0–*0 parts
Lumogen
®
Yellow S ***0
*0–*0 parts Resin solution, consisting of
*0 %
maleic resin and
*0 % ethanol
