4. Guardrail Principle
a. The wave-shaped guardrail is a series of corrugated steel fence panels attached to each other by stitching to a continuous post for support along the whole structure.
b. Using the soil base, guardrail posts and guardrail beams deformation, the guardrail system absorbs impact energy forcing out of control vehicles to alter their velocity. This prevents the vehicle from running off the road to protect the vehicle itself and passengers to reduce losses caused by the accident.
c. Waveform phase and flexible steel beam guardrails have the great ability to absorb kinetic energies and is aesthetically pleasing as it can be aligned along the contours of the road. It can also be used in a small radius curve.
5. Guardrail Application
a. To provide guard railing protection for motor vehicles against dangerous road areas such as steep slopes, high embankments, obscure curves/bends and sharp corners.
b. To absorb the kinetic energies from sudden impact collisions to minimize damage to the vehicle and injury to the passenger.
c. To act as a directional guard railing for drivers to be aware of the correct driving direction.
d. To act as a median barrier to avoid head-on collision.
