Description

Mexico ranks 4th in biodiversity of wood worlwide.

The quality of Mexican wood is recognized by experts as a superior product.
Among the best exmples of that is the well know Dalbergia Retusa from Mexico, which is far superior from the one coming from Central America.

Due to the excess of illegal trafic of woods, Mexican Government have tight the procurement of any CITES on certain species, and with special emphasis of Cocobolo (Dalbergia Retusa).

The last m3 authorized were to a company in the state of Oaxaca, which prepared a complete study and business plan to clean the wood left by two consecutive hurricanes that hit severely that part of Mexico, and risk of forest fires was rather high, so such company extracted all fallen trees of main forests in the area, most of them of little to none value, but also some of very high value. There are only *9 m3 from that operation, all turned into lumber, and such company (Treevales Woods and Products LTD) is a subsidiary of us.

Our current inventory comes directly from a concession auctioned by Federal Government, and it was limited to **9 m3, out of which we still have available nearly **0 m3.

Every single piece of wood we trade has all porper documents and come from certified sustainable forests, and Dalbergia Restusa is not the exception.
Please be careful as NO OTHER Company or Person Can Guarantee Mexican Cocobolo with CITES.

We receive every week requests to help buyers who ended up with Mexican Cocobolo confiscated by Mexican Authorities, or just sitting on some warehouse without proper documentation, but we cannot risk our concessions nor our reputation at any price.

We have seen several buyers loose all their investment, as they attempted to buy from illegal sources that "assured to have everything under control bribing Mexican Officers", but due to such known corruption, the Government is taking actions by rotating every other month Officers at main Customs Offices, so the risk is getting higher every day.

Without exceptions, we only export from a large Mexican Port and wod is declared exactly as it is, with its CITES when applicable. In addition, we do not ship to any port that not be a final destination of the woods we export.

As proof of such comittment with our customers, we offer a scheme based on irrevocable and confirmed L/C's, which eliminate the risk of any fraud, as only untl the wood is shipped with all their documents (including CITES for species like Dalbergia Retusa, Guaiacum Officinale, Cedrella Odorata, Dalbergia Stevensonii and Swietenia Macrophilya), we obtained the B/L ann all other applicable documents and certifications that must be listed on detail on the L/C's, and only against those documents in the form established by buyer's Bank, funds are released by Mexican Bank.

Sincerely,

Jose M Ponce
