This Unit 1 power block is a coal-fired electric generating unit
comprising a nominal 600 MW GE steam turbine, tandem-compound
4-flow single reheat unit with throttle conditions of 3500 psig,
1050°F/1100°F. The Alstom steam generator is rated at approximately
4,650,000 lbs per hour capable of burning bituminous coal only or a
combination of bituminous coal and petcoke (up to a 70%/30% blend).
Coal pulverizers have significant design margin operating at ~70%
for MCR firing.
The plant design heat rate with this power block is 8725 BTU/kw-hr
with tubine control valves wide open (VWO) and average ambient
conditions in southeasern U.S. with a circular mechanical
forced draft cooling tower, an electrostatic precipitatior, and a
wet limestone flue gas desulphurization system. All cycle design
has been incorporated into the equipment for sale and cycle
information is available for all other normally desired
conditions.
Included with the block procurement of the equipment listed for
sale is the design documentation of the power block. This includes
all drawings, specifications, calculations, 3D modeling etc at the
stage that currently exists. For sale separately are the continued
services of the engineer of record for this design. As summary of
the status of design is as follows.
All design associated with the equipment listed is complete as are
the foundations and buildings for the boiler, coal silo bay, and
turbine building, including all foundations which are of a heavy
mat design on piles that can easily transfer to other locations.
The General Arangement of the power block is fairly standard and
completely developed for the critical piping, which is included in
the equipment for sale. Balance-of-plant equipment and facilities
have all been specified and are ready for procurement. The plant
back-end design can be adjusted to match the buyers air emissions
requirements and the fully developed site layouts can be adjusted
to meet the buyers site conditions. All P&IDs are complete as
is preliminary piping and electrical physical design. A
comprehensive PrimaVera level 3 schedule of procurement,
engineering, construction, and start-up is developed based upon the
existing site construction plan. Dependent upon the
timing of the purchase, the existing engineering and design team
can be assigned to the buyers project. This team specifically
produced this design and many were responsible for two other
recently and successfully completed 600 MW units.
