Description

Hibiscus is  a flowering plant that is native to tropical and sub tropical regions of the world. The hibiscus flower is easily recognizable by its large and five-petal blossoms.
The hibiscus buds are usually red in color as against the blossom which are white. The bud are tropically dried and used to make teas and syrups or added as an ingredient to traditional Indian, southeast Asian and west African dishes. Hibiscus has characteristically tart, floral flavor and little scent.
The hibiscus flower have been proven to have several health benefits, some of which are treatment for high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
Hibiscus Plants are also characterized as toxicity category 4;meaning that the plant and its blossoms are considered nontoxic to humans. However, its advisable to avoid consuming plants that have been exposed to pesticides or insecticides as this may be seriously harmful for consumption.
