A potato chip (often
just chip, or crisp in British and Irish English) is a thin
slice of potato that has been either deep fried, baked, or air
fried until crunchy. They are commonly served as a snack, side
dish, or appetizer.
The clear winner in terms of potato flavor, just
a touch more salt and crispness would
have given them the edge. Some tasters mentioned that because of
the thinness of the chips, they almost dissolve onto your tongue as
you eat them.
Because they're produced from potatoes, chips can also provide
several important vitamins and minerals. In particular, some types
of healthy potato chips can provide potassium,
pantothenic acid, vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and
manganese.
