Description
The grades applied to smoked sheet rubber are cleanliness, colour
and freedom from visible defects such as air bubbles. The important
factor in the production of good quality RSS rubber is to ensure
the purity. An adequate supply of clean water is necessary for
dilution of latex and for washing during sheeting. Latex should be
collected as soon as possible to avoid premature coagulation and a
common anticoagulant such as sodium sulfite (Na2SO3) can also be
used. The dosage may vary depending on the conditions but should
not exceed 0.*5% for dry rubber. The coagulation can be done by
coagulating into individual blocks such as coagulating drums or by
coagulating into continuous sheets. Latex when arriving at the
factory must take samples to check the raw material DRC; there are
many testing methods but currently the popular method is to quickly
check TSC using the conversion table to DRC
Smoked sheet classification is done by the appearance method:
+ RSS type 1: No bubbles, no dust, no stains.
+ RSS type 2: And small bubbles, no dust, no stains.
+ RSS types 3,4,5: A lot of bubbles but no dust, no stains.
* Application
With the specific conditions and processing methods, RSS rubber is
widely used in engineering such as making car tires; RSS forms
sheets so the tensile strength is very high, less oxidized than
rubber granules, very suitable for products requiring high
resistance to breakage, wear resistance, as well as high toughness
