model with an objective to achieve the status of a zero-waste
shopping mall. 1 Utamas objectives in this program are: • To
develop innovative policies and systems to manage food waste from
disposal into the landfill for alternative means of recovery.
• To streamline recycling activities and strategize efforts to
increase the rate of recycling.
• To create awareness and inculcate best practice of waste
separation at source amongst shopping malls and pioneer the change
forward.
• To form strategic partnerships with various stakeholders to
develop integrated waste management systems.
• To enhance the knowledge and good practices of all the tenants
involved in this program via guidelines, training programs and
active communication with tenants.
This program will bring improvement and change to the overall waste
management practices among the tenants and their respective
organisation which in turn, would contribute towards the
improvement of the global environment situation
