History
Julian and Paula Carter started to work together in ***8 when Paula
won the Prince of Wales Award for design, they created the Little
Darlings stable of brands, which included Little Darlings, Little
Darlings Christening, Baby Darlings, Sulk and Lily Rio.
A long the way Paula also found time to design clothing for Prince
William and Harry, a Thai Princess and a host of celebrity
children.
With the business flourishing in the *0s, the time came to expand,
which led to Little Darlings becoming a division of William Baird
PLC, a major fashion business with a turnover in excess of £**0
million.
The Carters design and commercial expertise and the William Baird
operation made Little Darlings an extremely profitable and high
profile fashion brand which still enjoys a major market share
today.
Having achieved their ambitions in the childrens wear industry, the
Carters left Little Darlings in ***7 to take a break and look for
inspiration elsewhere. Since then amongst other things they
have been business angels, renovated a rambling house in
Northamptonshire, designed interiors for their development of ski
apartments in Switzerland and founded a successful digital
marketing agency.
The new collection _ itty London
However, Paulas passion for kids wear has taken the Carters back to
the childrens wear industry for Spring Summer ***6 with their new
brand Itty London and a dedicated manufacturing facility.
The collection designed exclusively by Paula is for girls from 2 to
*2 years, but babies havent been forgotten either.
Initially there are four stories of co-ordinating separates and
dresses. All items are perfectly colour matched, and can be
mixed and matched between the different stories
Itty is very much designed to be something special, enjoyable and
comfortable to wear, made from soft jacquards, damasks, chiffons,
crisp cotton poplins, denims and knits in soft pastel colours.
Different looks within the collections can be
dressed up for special occasions with fascinators and coordinating
trench coats. Or dressed down to be smart-casual for holidays and
parties with denim separates, clever accessories and for
Glastonbury, of course, a pair of muddy wellies!
.
All the garments have details such as branded buttons, adjustable
waists, stretch fabrics, exclusive prints and much more.
