The commodity has been commercially exploited for its utility as edible oil and animal feed. On crushing the mature beans, around *8% oil could be obtained: the rest being the oil cake/meal, which forms the prime source of protein in animal feeds. Soya bean Meal is considered a premium product because of its high digestibility, high energy content and consistency. Properly processed de-hulled soya bean meal is an excellent source of protein and is used extensively in feed for swine, beef and dairy cattle, poultry and aqua culture.
