Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic commonly used in veterinary industry in China. It is also known as Tylon and Tylomycin. It can be obtained by fermentation of Streptomyces freundii, which belongs to Actinomyces. There are three forms of Tylosin alkali, phosphate and tartrate. The antimicrobial spectrum is similar to erythromycin. It can inhibit Gram-positive bacteria and some gram-negative bacteria, mycoplasma, vibrio, coccidia, spirochetes, etc. It is especially effective for mycoplasma, but its effect on Gram-positive bacteria is not as good as erythromycin. This product is characterized by its strong effect on Mycoplasma and is one of the most potent anti-mycoplasma drugs in macrolides. As feed additives, it is widely used in the feed of chickens, pigs, cattle, sheep, fish and shrimps. It can promote the growth of livestock and poultry and increase the utilization rate of feed.
