The Jigsaw Web SCADA system is specifically aimed at the remote reading and reporting of multiple sensors, both analogue and digital, and the subsequent remote control of attached equipment such as motors and valves.

The data readings are visible on a web site and trigger levels for alarms or responses are set through the same web site. The web site can trigger the sending of E-Mails and texts to garner an immediate response to problems detected.

All readings are stored in the SQL database associated with the web site so that third party “Dashboards” may be added, and non real time analysis can take place.

Jigsaw Web SCADA – I/O Interfaces

Up to *0 Units may be linked on a common RS**5 bus to multiply I/O capabilities. Each interface is polled by the GPRS controller which initiates communications back to the web server on a timed basis, or when a set point is met. RS**5 Bus may be up to 1Km long if properly terminated. Each unit requires a *2 Volt DC Power Source. (Supplied)

Jigsaw Web SCADA – GPRS Manager

The GPRS Manager is the heart of the SCADA control system. It connects to the web server on a timed basis, or when a particular set point is reached. The computer continuously polls the connected I/O interfaces gathering and storing information, and comparing each piece of returned data with its set point. When communications to the web server is required, the GPRS Manager connects to the Internet through the GPRS network, passes all current readings and awaits a response as to which relays to switch (if any). This means that all decisions on control are handled centrally where they are easily changed through the web site. **0 V mains Powered.

The SCADA system web site has two elements. The first is the communications interface which receives the incoming data and stores it in an SQL database, and also passes any control instructions back to the On Site systems. The second element is a user interface that displays the near real time data in a form representative of the system being monitored.

The second element is system specific and hence is designed along with the end user so that it is simple to understand and manage by non technical staff.

Typically the user interface will show set points for each of the sensors on the system along with their current levels. A green/yellow/red traffic light type system is usually employed to show parameters close to and beyond their set points for easy monitoring of many set points at a glance.
