Monopotassium phosphate occurs as white crystals or as a white granule or a crystalline powder. It has got a  relative density as 2.**8 and melts at **2.6℃. It is stable in air. It is insoluble in alcohol but freely soluble in water. Its water solution is alkaline and the pH of 1:**0 aqueous solution is between 4.2 and 4.7. It is deliquescent.

Applications

Bacterial culture medium; Raw material for production of potassium metaphosphate. As a highly effective PK fertilizer in agriculture. Feed additive. In foodstuff industry it is used as/to Buffer; sequestrant, yeast food, swelling agent, flavoring agent, leavening auxiliary. As a urine acidifier or nutrient in pharmaceutical industry
