Properties

Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate occurs as crystalline powder. It has got a relative density as 1.*6g/cm3. It is soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol. When its aqueous solution is heated together with diluted inorganic acid, it will be hydrolyzed into phosphoric acid. It is hydroscopic, and when absorbing humidity it will become into sodium acid pyrophopshate hexa-hydrates. When it is heated at a temperature above**0℃, it will be decomposed into sodium meta phosphate.

Applications

Stablizer for H2O2; Treatment of Leather; Dispersant for oil well drilling mud; Cleaner ingredient. In foodstuff industry it is applied as a leavening agent, acidulant, buffering agent, coagulant, dispersing agent, emulsifying agent, protein modifier and sequestrant.
